Negative narratives against the All Progressives Congress, APC’s, presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will not affect his chances of emerging next president of Nigeria.
This was disclosed by the Chairman, Youth and Student Mobilization Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Osun state, David Asalu, (Asler) during strategic meeting with youths across the 332 wards of the state held at Tinubu-Shettima campaign office, Osogbo.
He tasked APC youths in the state with finding more young people to join the Tinubu-Shettima programme in order to win the support of the majority of young people in the state’s upcoming elections.
Despite Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s marketability, we must also recognise the efforts of agents of diversion who are spreading false information about him and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima. These people are making an effort to engage the youth by spreading false information about our candidate and his running companion. These attempts to discredit Asiwaju and Shettima are known to us. And we have to fight back.
“We need to work together to refute the false claims that agents of evil are making against our candidate and his running mate.
“A major task for us to achieve before February 25 is to ensure that we take up the vast majority of voting youths in our State through the Wards,” he continued. “We must massively recruit youths and students into the support base of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and make them agents of mobilisation themselves.
Demola Adeyeye, the Directorate’s secretary, stated in her remarks that the meeting’s purpose was to examine the Directorate’s actions with the appropriate parties in order to strengthen its relationships with the state’s youth population in advance of the General Elections in February and March.
“We have been speaking with several young organisations and groups about the importance of supporting the Tinubu-Shettima project, and the feedback we are receiving is quite positive. Right now, we are making sure that Osun’s voting places are all sufficiently covered.
We emphasise the importance of doing extensive research to persuade senior citizens that Tinubu’s idea is the best for Nigeria at this point in our history. We must all become door-to-door canvassers as a result, he continued.
