It is a sad reality that car hijackings have become a day to day activity in this country with criminals making millions and leaving building houses in their country after robbing innocent citizens here in South Africa. The V250 lead to this arrest was hijacked at Endaweni and the owner was shot, but thankfully taken to the hospital. The case was reported to Thatha-Zonke an unofficiall vigilante group early Sunday morning.Upon arriving at the address provided, they found a lady selling the tail light and apprehended her. She was made to call the dealer, who was then apprehended by the waiting TTZ members. The dealer then took them to a location in Jeppie, where they found the stolen V250 being stripped for parts.

Three suspects were arrested and the case was handed over to the police. However, it is concerning that the police were even confused about what to do with the stripped vehicle, and raises questions about their ability to handle the case responsibly.

It is an unfortunate fact that these hijackings have become a norm in our society and it is important that these illegal immigrants who continuously harass and shoot our citizens for their hard earned money and properties be brought to justice and face the full extent of the law before being deported.

The worst thing about fighting illegal immigrants and their activities is that when South Africans act out of anger, they are tagged xenophobic but nobody pays attention to the pain innocent citizens go through in the hands of these criminals.

Thatha-Zonke members worked tirelessly to trace the stolen vehicle until they received a lead that someone had posted a picture of the same V250 on a marketplace website, being stripped for parts. A member of the community informed TTZ and STT, and together they came up with a plan to purchase a part from the seller as a way to locate the stolen vehicle.
