The spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, said the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, can’t stop him from prosecuting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
A few days ago, Michael Achimugu, a former aide to Atiku, who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, accused him of money laundering through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) when he was the vice president of Nigeria.
Keyamo took up the corruption allegation and wrote petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Atiku Abubakar within 72 hours.
While speaking on Channels Television on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, Keyamo said nothing can stop him from prosecuting the former vice president.
Keyamo said he is ready to resign as the APC presidential campaign council spokesman if Tinubu asked him to stop the case.
He said, “If Asiwaju says, “Festus, you are diverting from my campaign, don’t campaign for me again,” I will say, “Please take your campaign because this is of national interest.” “I have taken it as a personal issue.”
